If you’re in Toronto this weekend, I will be doing a DJ set at Cherry Beach on Sunday evening. I often find that people don’t know what to expect from a DJ set of mine. This is normal as I am into alot of different shit and so I like to adapt to the type of crowd/venue/time I am playing. So when the organizers asked me what I was going to play, I decided to make a mix that reflected the idea of playing in a forest enclosure next to a beach…on drugs.

So I first heard Julio Bashmore‘s stuff a few weeks ago on CIUT in Toronto. I basically lost it because the song in question sounded so similar to my Edu K remix that I had recently dropped. I actually emailed him to tell him because it was freaking me out and wanted him to hear it and to know that I never heard Moth People until after I had put out the remix. He ended up writing back that he didn’t really think they sounded the same but that he was into it. Right on! Here’s a mix he did for Vice which will give you a good idea of what he’s all about.

Douster is the fucking man! We met in Paris when we happened to play at the Social Club the same night. He proceeded to play the craziest face-melter set that fusioned kuduro, cumbia, the dinosaur from lost, raggaeton, nintendo and all kinds of other good shit. This is a new podcast he made for XLR8R before his debut album comes out in October on ZZK called Triassic Genesis. It features a remix I just made for Jubilee and Udachi called Paypur, as well as other fam such as ISA GT, Poirier, L-vis 1999 and Gucci Vump.
