Another World
To be perfectly honest, the idea of a new Chemical Brothers album is about as exciting as a root canal. The last song I heard from them featured Spank Rock and it was pretty uncompelling. That being said I’m really into this new track called Another World. Sometimes a really simple idea works. Simple repetitive lyrics, washed-out pads and arpeggiated chords set to a straighforward beat. Yep. The video was made by Dr Who director Adam Smith who’s combination of waveforms and Lawnmowerman-esque humanoids is a perfect recipe for a trippy music video experience. If this song is any indication, their new album Further could be a bit of a renaissance for them. It’s out in September.
